Japan travel eSIM comparison
Choose data first unless a booking or contact actually needs a Japanese phone number. A voice eSIM is available, but it can require an identity check and collection step that a data-only purchase does not. Allow time for that before an appointment or ticket registration.

Lowest listed pack price: Airalo JP · 1GB · 3 days at HK$31.79 per 3-day pack. Allowances and validity vary; confirm before buying.
What matters here
- Mobal voice eSIMs supply a Japanese 070/080/090 number after activation.
- For Mobal collection, bring the passport and order confirmation; delivery has its own ID check.
- For a rural itinerary, ask for the host network and check the actual overnight stops.

FAQs
Can I get the Japanese number before the trip?
Mobal says its number is assigned only after full activation. Do not buy it on the assumption that an advance ticket application can use the number immediately. Check the ticket seller’s accepted number types separately.
Can I keep that number for another visit?
Check the service term before cancelling. Mobal says termination, including expiry of a short-term voice plan, permanently disconnects the number. A future purchase then receives a new number.
