Get an installation answer before a price comparison
Give both providers the building, floor and flat, then ask for the connection type, upload/download specification and installation date. NETVIGATOR’s terms make availability and promotions address-dependent. HGC’s home-broadband terms distinguish FTTH from non-FTTH installation; confirm which connection the quote provides and whether any extra wiring is needed.
Price the router and compulsory extras
Compare all monthly payments plus installation, activation and compulsory equipment charges, less guaranteed bill credits. Keep vouchers separate. For example, a hypothetical HK$20 monthly saving over 24 months is HK$480; a HK$600 compulsory equipment charge would more than wipe it out. Check whether any television or security trial becomes chargeable and how to cancel it.
The notice and return dates are separate
NETVIGATOR’s published terms require at least 30 days’ written termination notice; leaving during the commitment can incur remaining service fees and premium charges. Its equipment-return notice gives 14 days from service termination to return the equipment and components.
HGC’s service-termination terms say to request the form through 1223 and return it at least one month, but no more than two months, before the termination date. Equipment is due within 14 days of the notification’s issue date. Obtain the applicable instructions and keep the return receipt; cancelling autopay does not close either service.
